What's the meaning of your name?(Ryka Dian)

Post  Ingrid Tseng on Fri Nov 19, 2010 4:46 pm

My partner Ryka dian is from Indonesia!!! Let me tell you something about her name and the tradition of naming a newborn!!! Very Happy

First, her complete name is Ryka Dian Vidyawati.

Second, the meaning of name is her parents want her to be a good and brave girl who can be the leader cheers ,and they want me to be a light that can lighten up their life.Wow Surprised !!! That's meaningful!!! sunny

Third, the person who give the name is her mother and her grandma, because they follow the Javanese tradition.

Fourth, there are many culture of naming a baby in my country, but I don't know too much about that, because she is a Javanese person,so her just know the Javanese tradition.
In Java, naming a baby is the important thing that must thought out carefully, because in that name there are many parents' hopes for the child.
Javanese people believe that name represent the child. Thy also reference many different kinds of language, and every name contain a meaning and a luck. Laughing

I hope she could keep the faith to the original meaning of her name. If she to do so, I think it will be something different in her life!!! cherry

Hello, Ingrid Tseng........ cat
Nice to meet you !.... Very Happy
I am Pepy.I want to comment your posting.
You are right. some people use the language of Java Indonesia to name her child.
There also are using the Arabic and English.
naming is very important.
Parents find the name of his son since his son in the womb.
In fact, they ask religious leaders to give their children names.
Did so well in Taiwan?
The name is the expectation of parents and you're right.
You know a lot about people naming Indonesia.
Definitely Rica has told you.
Glad to be acquainted with you.I hope we can be friends.

Hello,......
I am Pepy.
each parent must have hope for the child.
with that name is hope they pour.
Our name is the hope of our parents.
so, let us make ourselves as they wish.
in Indonesia many use Arabic language in the provision of the name.
because mayaritas Moslem.
some also use English because the marriage of the two countries split.
in Taiwan using any language?
I really hope we can continue to communicate and can become good friends.
